I forgot that journalism internships sometimes involve walking around in 40 degree heat to collect vox pops from people that don’t really want to talk to you.
Drinking 24oz of ice tea and don’t even care. Bring it on.
“People follow willa because he/she is sinful and hates underwear.”
seems legit.

What grades determine:
- Your ability to memorize mostly useless things
- Your ability to regurgitate information in the way others want you to
- Your ability to understand what adults want from you and give it to them
- Your tolerance for working on tasks you don’t find useful because others want you to do them or believe them to be helpful/socially acceptable
What grades do NOT determine:
- Your intelligence
- Your creativity
- Your emotional capabilities
- Your likeliness to succeed
- Whether you’re a good person

The Globe to Globe Shakespeare festival has just started on Southbank, featuring 37 plays in over 37 different languages. So far I’ve only seen the Isango Ensemble’s Venus and Adonis, who combined Zulu, Xhosa, Sotho and Setswana with traditional song and dance, and the Ngakau Toa’s production of Troilus & Cressida. During the encore, the actors ended with a haka that was spontaneously answered by a group of London Maoris in the audience, and the unscripted tandem haka continued in perfect unison. Don’t worry about the lack of subtitles- Shakespeare’s favourite themes of tragic romance, hapless wars, impossible magic and bawdy humour are universal.
If you’re in London the next few months and have a chance, get to Shakespeare’s globe. I think you can get groundling tickets for around £10. Cheaper, better, and a more unique experience than the bloody Olympics!

I’m not a house-elf, handing me a bikini or a bra isn’t going to liberate me. I have my hijab and I feel free because I chose to wear it. That is liberation.
